For better or for worse, employees in supervisor positions often find themselves being the picture-perfect leader. They have high standards for their employees, yet they don't punish them for the one-off misstep. How do good managers become good managers? Well, they want to be nothing like their superior, who makes every day another reason to allow the checks and balances in place to do their thing.

Not all superiors end up being the best of the best, but it's crucial to find one who will take a stand against their bosses when faced with workplace adversity. Not only is their role on the line, but the best interests of their employees are also at risk.

That's why the manager in the story below gives their supervisor a sweet taste of malicious compliance when their site supervisor tries to dictate what goes on at their restaurant.     "Manager Mayhem"

    So this happened years ago when I was in charge of a restaurant. Not part of a chain or anything, this was owned by a couple who had 2 restaurants (both different) and a bar in the lobby of a movie theater.

    Original Product6850 I always love when a foh manager who mostly focuses on the front comes back to help. They always find things wrong and tries to help or manage. We love to sit back and watch the show. Some how they never figure out they are the problem. This doesn't apply to all foh, don't get me wrong. Keep me in the back i know my place! I'll share my opinion and help run a plate or two if I have time.

    Sagybagy A good manager would have stepped in and done things like run the dishes, help with food prep or cleaning. Run orders etc. to help with the chaos. Not try and direct chaos.
